KAURI PANELS (MINI'S)

A series of works that celebrates traditional Māori Toi (Māori art forms) and explores contemporary ways of using Kōwhaiwhai, Tukutuku, Taniko and Whaikairo patterns. 

Kauri is Aotearoa's most ancient and revered tree.
Strong, enduring, and sacred, the Kauri holds cultural significance in Māori traditions and whakapapa embodying the spiritual connection between the land and its people.

These are hand painted with acrylic paint,  protected with oil and wax on Ancient swamp Kauri board with saw tooth hanger  screwed on the back for easy hanging.

Panels can be nourished and re-waxed when needed to keep the native timber depth of colour.

These can also be hung indoors or outdoors under cover..eg on a covered deck.
